Rush Fail

Sorry I haven’t been around lately, we’ve been hard at work to get an internal demo done, and it’s been leaving me just crispy enough to not feel like posting much of anything.

Also, You Might Be A Redneck

Eric wants to give you some clues as to when your game might be in trouble.

Personally, I prefer the funny version.  And yes, I’ve lived to see many of them.

That being said, to echo a sentiment that Eric mentioned, if you recognize too many of these at your own company, why aren’t you doing anything about it?

It takes how many years to make an MMO.  How much resume space are you willing to let it poison?  Even if you can’t go anywhere, try to fix something.  Even if you’re not successful, you’d be shocked at how people remember the go-getters after the Jenga towers collapse.

Guitar Hero Finally Gets a Bad Review

This guy’s complaint: “Guitar Hero broke my knee!”

We were neck in neck in points… I had to do something special. I needed STYLE points. I breathed deep, my rock meter was maxed out and I was going to make this audience feel it. I twisted to the right and threw my guitar in the air! Instead of a roaring audience I heard a loud snap! My knee slid to the outside of my leg and my leg bent sideways as I fell to the ground.

Half the people in the room were concerned the other half called me a pussy. I was writhing in pain and pushed my leg back into place. I hobbled to the bathroom to a closer look and couldn’t bend my swollen leg anymore.

Whiner.

Cop in CoH Proves Stupidity Not Limited to MySpace, Teens

Let’s say that you have a hobby. You might want to post about it online. This is benign if your hobby is, say, Magic cards. Or pottery. Or Star Trek furry fan fic.

It may be less benign if your hobby is tasering inmates at the correctional facility you work at.

“Seeing someone get TASER’d is second only to being the guy pulling the trigger,” Thompson wrote on [a City of Heroes] message board Aug. 25. “That is money. Puts a smile on your face.”

Asked by the Portland Tribune to review the posts and comment, Sheriff Bernie Giusto launched an internal investigation of Thompson that will examine, among other things, whether he lied while accusing an inmate of assaulting him as a way to justify having injured the inmate.
